God Will Do It
Behind the Song

I started making my own demos without proper gears. I still don't have proper gears.
It started off as a challenge I took upon myself from a twitter discussion and I have made and published 10 demos on SoundCloud.
All of the vocals were captured using microphones on the laptop, mobile phone or on a earpiece. (Now you know the secret behind the inconsistent vocal sound).
Today's post is not really about the demos but about how lacks and needs are essential ingredients for creativity while I tell you the story behind the song "God Himself ".
It was the year 2013, the month of March, a Friday (I believe). We were preparing a hall for the wedding reception together with other friends of the groom, a senior colleague and brother. While we were at it, some other colleagues joined us and on seeing them , I started thinking and shedding tears. I shielded myself cunningly to avoid questions like "is everything okay?". Well, at the time the honest response would have been "no".
About 4 years earlier I almost died but I didn't. Obviously! What I couldn't miss is an extra academic session due to this fact. Was that the reason I was crying? No. It was because these colleagues were former juniors I had to graduate with. So what? They came from their places of internship while I have sought for one in vain for months.
While I was weeping just by the entrance to the hall, a song came to my mouth from my spirit "God Himself will do it, He owns the cattle on every hill, God Himself will do it".
I needed that kind of encouragement at the time but I wonder if that song would have come if things were going as desired.
I have been writing songs for years to know that deep inspirations don't come much in the highs but rather in the lows. The question is, do we waste our tears or maximize them? When we weep we see. What do we see? What are you seeing in your present low? The Sun in the horizon or the pain of being alone and helpless?
I will eventually stay a whole year before securing an internship but that song never left me. It didn't leave me during the rigors of life as an intern and it is still with me now struggling to procure a proper recording gear as an occupant of a miry pit inside a valley.
The vocals were recorded using a phone's earpiece as mic because that's what I have available.
Do not let what you don't have limit what you can do.
You can't do all things, but you have a God who can.
You can't have all things, but you have a Father who does.
While I have limited skills, what I can do with them are limitless, technically. Except I stop the flow, the little will still be much. I will keep the tap on. Bring your buckets, God Himself will do it!
The Lyrics
Verse
Things are hard you feel shattered
Looking up North as things go South
only God, trust God alone
things are tough the road seems rough
and you cant go it alone
I want you to know, I want you to know
only God, trust God alone
only God, trust God alone
Chorus
God Himself will do it
God Himself will do it
He owns the cattle on every hill
God Himself will do it
Bridge
I cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfill his purpose for me
whenever I am afraid
I will trust in God
