Behind the Song The more correct heading here will actually be "Surrounding the Song", but for the culture let's still keep it as "Behind the song". The song was written in 2006 and was first performed by the Redeemed Christian Fellowship (RCF), Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (Lautech) Choir. This song holds a lot of pleasant memories for me, and lessons too. I remembered the habit of writing songs for other choristers to sing not simply for that reason but also because I was very shy. I could not imagine myself standing in front of many people to speak not to talk of perform a song. Well the Choir director, a dear sister, won't have it my way. I must stand before the perceptive and sharp eyes of hundreds of students and as if that's not enough, I must sing. I wanted it otherwise, hidden amongst the choristers. "You are a city set on a hill that cannot be hidden", I thought of this in retrospect, however I don't know what my thoug...

Heaven's Song

Behind the Song Have you ever dreamed of a place and you instinctively know it was heaven? Well, no matter the details of the vision or the imagination, it will still be at best a blind man's description of an elephant. This in essence is what this song is. I Can

Behind The Song It was one of those days you wake up with a song on your lips and you know God is encouraging you. This was how this song came about. For the most part the song has to be fleshed out since most of the lyrics were forgotten except the verse. Some details were lost but not the theme. While the song is to my encouragement I want to also use the song for instruction. Philippians 4:13 did not come to us as a tool for motivation just for motivation's sake, considering our usage of the scripture. Read in context, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." does not mean you can literally do everything and anything, it does not mean you are now omnipotent but it does mean that you can bear all things. It means you can endure all things. It means, in the very word of Paul: "Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.  I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every ...
